Basically private nurseries and day nurseries provide care, educational and play for children aged from very young to 5 years of age. There are more stringent requirements for nurseries that look after babies under 6 months of age. The establishment is usually open during the week from 0800 to 1800 hours although of course these times will vary from nursery to nursery.
How do you choose a private nursery?
Questions to consider include: how many children currently attend? how many adults work there? how qualified are the staff? what type of insurance is included? how much does it cost and what methods of payment are accepted? what is the youngest and oldest age of children attending? what are the health and safety rules? are snacks and meals included or extra cost? how is disciple handled at the nursery?
